Budgelytics, a personal expense tracker.
A simple expense tracker built to fit my own budgeting needs. In this post, I explain why I built Budgelytics and what is coming next. The app is built using Laravel, Livewire, and Alpine.js for a smooth and responsive experience.
Budgelytics is a personal finance web application that helps you track your spending and gain insights into your financial habits. It offers a simple, user-friendly interface to log transactions, categorize them, and view weekly overviews that make trends in your expenses easier to spot.
I started building Budgelytics for myself because I’ve always felt existing finance apps were either too complex, too bloated, or just didn’t fit the way I think about budgeting. As a software engineer, I enjoy creating tools that solve my own problems and personal finance was something I’ve always wanted more control over. This project gave me the perfect opportunity to build something tailored to my exact needs.
Right now, Budgelytics is still in its early stages. What’s available is a minimal, working MVP focused solely on expenses and is currently limited to weekly insights. But it’s already helped me better understand my spending patterns. I’m actively working on improving the experience, refining the UI, and adding features that make budgeting even more intuitive and helpful.
This has been a fun passion project to tinker with over the past few weeks, and I'm excited to see where it goes next.
